About the Role- This role offers a unique opportunity to support individuals with cognitive disabilities within the criminal justice system, contributing to safer communities and better long-term outcomes.
- As a specialist Forensic Disability Officer, you will provide assessments and interventions for individuals in the justice system, including in-reach services to courts and custodial settings.
- You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to care planning and continuity of service, while providing consultation and advice to those within the team and to service providers across health, justice, and community sectors.
- Experienced professionals in assessment, care coordination, and intervention for individuals with intellectual/learning disabilities, autism, acquired brain injuries, and comorbidities are highly regarded.
- You should have skills in working across multiple service systems (health, justice, and community) and be an excellent communicator with strong report-writing and documentation skills.
- A commitment to trauma-informed, person-centred, and culturally responsive practice is essential.
- Tertiary qualified professionals in an Allied Health discipline are preferred, particularly those with experience in disability service, forensic setting, or mental health contexts.
