About this role
Take Two provides therapeutic services for infants, children, and young people who have suffered trauma, neglect, and disrupted attachment. This service contributes to the system that offers care, support, and protection for these children. Take Two is involved in providing family violence services, foster care, residential care, and Family Preservation and Reunification Response Program services.
The Opportunity- Location: Shepparton on Yorta Yorta Country
- Part-Time 0.5FTE, Permanent position
- Salary: $112K pro rata plus super and salary packaging
Berry Street has implemented the Teaching Family Model (TFM), a holistic approach to supporting young people in out-of-home care. This model focuses on teaching social skills, problem-solving, and self-determination in a family-style group setting. Staff are trained in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), a proactive approach to crisis prevention and de-escalation.
The specialist will work closely with young people and the Residential Care team. The key responsibilities include providing clinical assessment, consultancy, and therapeutic support to the Southern Therapeutic Residential Care program.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans with clear goals.
- Collaborate with clients and care teams to achieve goals within set timeframes.
- Support staff in implementing the Teaching Family Model through training and tailored approaches for each child.
- Assist residential staff in incorporating therapeutic methods.
- Sound decision-making skills and excellent clinical judgment.
- Self-discipline to provide targeted clinical services within strict timeframes.
- Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Health or Welfare field (e.g., Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, Family Therapy, Speech Pathology). Minimum 5 years of clinical experience with children.
- Additionally desirable experience includes secondary consultation, psychoeducation, coaching, and Family Therapy training.
- Regular reflective supervision.
