Job Description

Are you a compassionate and considerate individual who enjoys making a positive impact in people's lives?

As a Mentor Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with participants and their support networks to achieve their goals and promote their independence and choice.

The role involves providing care and supports to participants as detailed in their support plans, including assisting with daily personal hygiene, food preparation, and housework.

You will be responsible for implementing personal hygiene and infection control procedures, being alert to signs of distress or apathy in participants, and adapting your communication style to meet the needs of individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing person-centered care and support to participants
  • Implementing daily living activities and social programs
  • Building relationships based on mutual respect and trust
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A strong understanding of mental health and trauma-related behaviors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • First Aid Certificate and current NDIS Worker Screening check
