Support Care Specialist

The Role: As a Support Care Specialist, you will be instrumental in providing day-to-day care and support to individuals with physical disabilities and mental illness. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with participants to achieve their individual goals and empower them to lead more independent and fulfilling lives.
- Care Delivery: You will assist participants in achieving their individual objectives, ensuring they reach their full potential through effective care delivery and support.
- Essential Requirements:
- Travel: You must be willing to travel around the Wollongong area for participant support.
- Personal Care: You will provide personal care and community access for both male and female participants.
- Vehicle: You must own an insured vehicle and be willing to use it for participant support.
- Criteria and Skills:
- Experience: Previous experience in managing complex health needs is highly regarded.
- Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, including proficiency in data recording and form completion.
- Approach: A person-centered approach is crucial when supporting participants, adopting an empathetic attitude similar to that of supporting family members.
- Background: Experience in Support Work, Nursing, or supporting NDIS participants with mental illness, and intellectual, and physical disabilities is beneficial.
