About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Chef and Operations Manager to lead our Catering Services team at Goodwin Aged Care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Lead and manage a diverse team of chefs, cooks, and support staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality catering services to our residents.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance, productivity, and morale.
  • Culinary Operations
    • Oversee the planning, preparation, and presentation of meals, ensuring they meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.
    • Manage food safety and hygiene practices, adhering to Goodwin's standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Management
    • Develop and manage budgets for catering services, ensuring financial sustainability and efficiency.
    • Monitor and control food costs, inventory, and supplies.
  • Customer Service
    • Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained, responding to resident feedback and concerns.
    • Build strong relationships with residents, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with Goodwin's policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    • Identify and mitigate risks associated with food safety, hygiene, and other aspects of catering services.
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
    • Food Safety Supervisor certification.
    • First Aid Certificate.
    • Current Class C (or higher) driver's license.
  • Skills and Experience
    • At least 5 years in a senior management role in the hospitality industry.
    • Strong people management, communication, and computer literacy skills.
    • Proven business and financial management skills with a strategic mindset.
    • Knowledge of aged care accreditation standards, nutritional needs of older adults, and work health and safety principles.
  • Personal Attributes
    • High ethical standards, trustworthiness, and confidentiality.
    • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
