Job Title: Design Lead Engineer, Water Infrastructure

  • This role is pivotal in leading the design and technical delivery of major infrastructure projects, including water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, reservoirs, and network upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver large-scale water infrastructure projects from concept through to construction.
  • Oversee technical design development, ensuring compliance with project scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Coordinate inputs from engineering, procurement, construction, and maintenance teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
  • Manage design risks, scope changes, and ensure quality assurance through independent reviews.
  • Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and approvals.
  • Prepare and present design documentation, reports, and progress updates.

About You:

  • You bring proven experience leading design teams on water infrastructure/treatment facility design and delivery projects with a bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Strong understanding of Australian water industry standards and Sydney Water requirements.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Chartered Engineer status (CPEng) or working towards it is highly desirable.
