We're looking for a skilled Data Center Infrastructure Specialist - Electrical to join our operations team. This permanent role is based in West Melbourne, working Monday-Friday daytime hours.

About the Role

This key position involves supervising and performing facilities engineering work, including alarm response, fault finding, maintenance, repairs, and modification of equipment relating to controls, electrical, mechanical systems, and equipment.

As an ideal candidate, you'll have industrial or mission-critical experience, with expertise in UPS, STS, LV boards, and basic controls. A smaller site team and on-call split evenly between colleagues will give candidates with sound HVAC/mechanical knowledge an advantage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily checks and site inspections of the building and alarms.
  • Coordinate and lead preventative maintenance tasks and vendors, and lead repairs and corrective maintenance efforts.
  • Connect with collaborators about major repairs and develop procedures for running them.
  • Coordinate and perform critical switching activities.
  • Maintain workplace safety practices and alignment to approved MOPs.
  • Ensure incidents are escalated and handled according to protocols.
  • Assist with capacity management and support other teams as needed.
Site Administration
  • Run access control and security measures.
  • Ensure the fire protection system is active and perform integral actions.
  • Maintain and coordinate site records to meet compliance requirements.
  • Attend vendor meetings to discuss services and address any issues.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
  • Electrical Trade Qualifications (or Degree Qualified with proven experience)
  • Team-first mentality and willingness to learn and develop on the job
  • Industrial, data center, or Mission Critical experience preferred
  • Able to contribute to a shared on-call roster (approx. 1 in 5 weeks)

  • Estimated salary: AU$100,000 - AU$130,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
