Job Title: Plant Maintenance Fitter

V/Line is a leading transportation provider in Victoria, Australia. We are committed to delivering safe, reliable, and accessible transport services to our customers.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mobile Plant and Equipment Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining V/Line's plant and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order and meet the required standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritizing, programming, and performing maintenance and repair tasks on plant and vehicles used by Gangs throughout the State of Victoria.
  • Troubleshooting problems and recurring faults, arranging modifications to plant in consultation with the Plant Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Inspecting, maintaining, and adjusting plant and vehicles regularly in accordance with established guidelines and recommending maintenance strategies.
  • Certifying plant is fit for use following servicing and repairs.
  • Ensuring quality and safety instructions are complied with.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous industry experience in a similar role.
  • Extensive knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems and good knowledge of low voltage electrical circuits and components.
  • Qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or Maintenance Fitter.
  • Demonstrated alignment to V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership, and human rights.
