Maritime Technical Lead


About the Role
As a Technical Director - Maritime, you will play a pivotal role in driving our maritime projects forward. You will lead high-performing teams to deliver complex infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet client requirements, quality standards, and budget expectations. Your technical expertise will be invaluable in shaping project outcomes, while your leadership skills will empower team members to excel in their roles.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engagement with clients, stakeholders, and industry professionals on diverse maritime projects.
  • Oversee project management, adding value across the entire project lifecycle, and ensure delivery of outputs that meet requirement, quality, program, and budgetary expectations.
  • Coordinate and manage project teams, mentoring less experienced team members to develop their skills.
  • Contribute to proposal and bid preparation for projects.
  • Participate in business development activities, including developing relationships with clients.
  • Collaborate with international colleagues to pursue opportunities, design management, and technical leadership in project delivery.
What We're Looking For
  • A proven track record in technical leadership and management of maritime infrastructure projects.
  • Approximately 15-20 years of professional experience in planning, assessment, analysis, design, and remediation of maritime structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead/direct multidisciplinary teams in delivering large projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant standards and industry best practices, familiarity with international design standards.
  • Experience identifying/pursuing opportunities and building relationships with a range of clients to drive growth.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely.
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil or Structural Engineering with relevant registration/ chartership.
  • Eligibility to obtain Australian Government Security Clearance is preferred.
