About the Role

This role is a critical component of ensuring maritime security compliance in Port Melbourne, VIC.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough security screening of persons, vehicles, and cargo entering secure areas in accordance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Operate and monitor advanced security equipment including x-ray machines, walk-through metal detectors, and handheld scanning devices to detect potential threats.
  • Verify identification and check Maritime Security Identification Cards (MSIC) to ensure all individuals entering restricted zones are authorized and cleared.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, breaches, or suspicious activities, maintaining a high level of situational awareness at all times.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of incidents, screening logs, and access control data for future reference and analysis.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and clear instructions to port users while adhering to strict security protocols.
