Assurance Professional Opportunity

Harnessing your expertise in risk management and compliance, we are seeking a skilled professional to join our team. As a key contributor to managing and mitigating risk across the enterprise, you will play an instrumental role in ensuring the adequate control environment.

In this dynamic assurance role, you will support senior management in providing leading controls assurance support to business operations. You will work closely with stakeholders, helping to ensure ongoing delivery of business outcomes that align with risk appetite and regulatory compliance requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing operationally independent oversight and challenge of risk-taking activities across business operations;
  • Providing operationally independent assurance as to the effective operation of key controls through systematic and risk-based testing, review, and reporting on key risk and compliance controls;
  • Formulating and recommending control solutions and improvements by expertly guiding and advising business stakeholders;
  • Monitoring the effective operation of the risk management framework, risk culture, and control environment, and reporting on findings and recommendations;
  • Proactively identifying control gaps and corrective actions required to maintain an effective risk and compliance program;
  • Maintaining the annual controls assurance plan and program, ensuring integration with the internal audit plan, and defining key milestones and critical path;

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A bachelor's degree in law, finance, or business;
  • Accreditation through GRCI/RMIA considered favourably;
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in controls assurance/audit/similar;
  • Demonstrated experience in a controls assurance role with an Australian financial services institution, preferably within wealth management;
  • Sound knowledge of current regulatory regimes applicable to business operations;
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret information;
  • Demonstrated ability to produce accurate work, meeting tight deadlines and prioritizing own and others work;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to engage with management, business, and other team members.
