Mental Health Specialist Leader

Salary PackageThe estimated annual salary for this role is around $80,000 to $110,000, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits including salary packaging of up to $15,900 in living expenses and an additional benefit of up to $2,650 in meals and entertainment.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Senior Practitioner to support our headspace Wollongong team in delivering efficient, effective, safe, and high-quality mental health services to young people. This role offers the opportunity to:
- Develop your clinical leadership skills and provide support as part of our clinical management team.
- Serve as a key point of contact for team members, supporting the escalation of care pathways.
- Work with young people to identify their support needs, goals, and to develop collaborative care plans.
- Collaborate with our Service Manager, Clinical Lead, and external stakeholders to develop person-centred, recovery-focused, evidence-based services that achieve positive outcomes for young people and their families.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of two years postgraduate experience in mental health service and hold full AHPRA registration as a Clinical Psychologist, Registered Psychologist, or Occupational Therapist (and eligible for mental health accreditation with OTA) or be a Social Worker holding an approved Social Work Qualification and be eligible for mental health accreditation with AASW.
- Experience in assessment of mental health disorders, and provision of Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy and other evidence-based focused psychological strategies.
- Experience working with young people and their families or carers in a family inclusive practice model.
- Demonstrated understanding of key issues in relation to the health and wellbeing needs of young people with mental health and/or substance use problems including the ability to effectively engage with young people and their family, friends, or carers.
