Family Dispute Resolution Specialist

About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Family Dispute Resolution Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will work with families across Queensland to provide high-quality dispute resolution services.

You will guide families to prioritize children's best interests and help them navigate ongoing family conflict. Your work will focus on supporting families who are separating, have separated, or are divorced.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of family law and the ability to work with diverse clients. They will also possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

A comprehensive client intake process will be conducted to assess suitability for mediation. The Specialist will deliver high-quality Family Dispute Resolution services using a facilitative model.

Suitable candidates will have relevant qualifications in Social or Behavioural Sciences and/or Law, with FDRP accreditation. They will also have experience in risk assessment, family dispute resolution, and mediation using a facilitative FDR framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive client intake, risk assessments, and needs evaluations to inform mediation suitability.
  • Deliver high-quality Family Dispute Resolution services using a facilitative model.
  • Engage in community outreach and education, developing networks with support services.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality while adhering to duty of care obligations.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and regular supervision.
