Family Support Role

  • We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our team.
  • The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively with caregivers and youth, and have experience in mental health and addictions.
  • A strong understanding of the Pan-Canadian Guiding Principles of Integrated Youth Services is essential.
  • The Family Support Worker will provide direct service to caregivers and families, assess their needs, and support them in creating connections to relevant services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Duty 1: Providing Direct Service
  2. Duty 2: Assessing Needs and Connecting Families
  3. Duty 3: Facilitating Referrals and Supporting Progress
  4. Duty 4: Collaborating with Team Members and Coordinating Services
  5. Duty 5: Leading Peer Support Initiatives and Developing Programming

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social science required; family studies or similar field preferred.
  • Two years of relevant experience required; three to five years preferred.
  • Current CPR and First Aid training required.
  • Valid NS Driver's License and reliable vehicle for client transportation.
