Health and Safety Projects Coordinator

We are seeking a skilled Health & Safety Project Officer to promote and maintain a health and safety culture for all employees at the Autism Association.
The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Health & Safety team to facilitate a safe working environment for employees through continuous improvement of the existing Health & Safety framework and promoting a positive health and safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and monitor WHS projects, initiatives, improvements, milestones, and timeframes
- Monitor the WHS Service Desk Inbox and respond to queries via email and telephone
- Monitor and verify reportable WHS data to ensure accuracy for compilation of WHS reporting
- Monitor and facilitate the WHS Management System document review and control process
- Record, prepare, and distribute WHS committee meeting minutes and monitor actions
- Assist with the coordination of WHS Management system audits
- Contribute to the development of relevant WHS training material
- Maintain Emergency Response requirements at facilities including plans and diagrams
- Assist with Workers Compensation and Injury Management processes
- Provide general support across the Health and Safety team as required
About You
In this role, you will ideally have:
- 2 years' experience in a similar Health and Safety role
- Relevant knowledge of WHS legislation and practices related to Health and Safety
- Understanding of the principles of a Health and Safety Management System
- Understanding of WHS performance reporting requirements including injury management
- Previous experience in Workers Compensation and Injury Management
- Previous experience in the disability sector
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Motivated to deliver a high standard of customer service
- A competitive salary ranging between $80,000 - $100,000 per annum depending on experience
