Job Overview

Pacific National, Australia's largest private rail freight operator, seeks a visionary leader to oversee regional operations.

This role involves leading a team to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of rail haulage services across the Northwest NSW portfolio.

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance safety, service performance, and efficiency.
  • BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH CUSTOMERS TO SUPPORT BUSINESS STRATEGY, GROWTH, AND OPERATIONAL SUCCESS.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration across the business and drive key initiatives to improve efficiency, resource utilization, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies, external partners, and unions to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
  • Manage workforce planning to ensure resources are in place to meet customer demand.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Experience in managing complex operations, ideally in freight or heavy industry.
  • Confidence and ability to have challenging conversations.
  • Strong understanding of planned operations and service delivery.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, drive performance, and foster an engaged workforce.
  • Excellent contract management and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills and a high degree of initiative.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field advantageous.
