Operations Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Underground Mining Operations Lead to provide leadership and direction to our underground shift crews in all planned mining activities.

This important role is accountable for the execution of daily and weekly plans as dictated by the planning team, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental obligations pertaining to mining activities on their allocated shift.

The successful incumbent will receive paid accommodation whilst working the allocated roster, which may be worked on a DIDO/Residential basis.

• Clarify tasks, initiate improvements and work with minimal supervision and in a coordinated manner with peers.
• Distribute and communicate 24-hour plans to all relevant parties on shift.
• Provide assistance to the Shift Engineer, Deputies and Trades in varying the plan when necessary.
• Manage performance by monitoring shift personnel and enforcing standards of work and behaviour.
• Accurately complete shift reports.

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Underground Longwall Mining.
• Certificate of competency as Undermanager or equivalent qualification.
• Desired Minimum of 10 years' experience in the mining industry.
• Proven track record in operational management at same or subordinate level.
• Strong management and leadership capability.
