Energy Storage Project Development Lead

The Australian energy sector is a thriving market, and as a key member of our business development team, you will lead the development of energy storage projects from concept to licensing. Your expertise in project development, investment analysis, and stakeholder engagement will drive success in this critical role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive project strategies for energy storage opportunities across Australia's National Electricity Market (NEM) and state jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, regulators, network operators, landowners, and specialist consultants to secure necessary approvals and permits.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with investors, financial institutions, and other key stakeholders to secure funding and partnerships.
  • Oversee end-to-end project workflows: site selection, land acquisition, grid connection applications, environmental and planning approvals, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop and review financial models for Australian energy storage projects, incorporating sensitivity analysis, risk assessments, and market forecasting.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in the Australian energy or power sector, with a background spanning technical, financial modelling, and project development.
  • Advanced skills in financial modelling and investment analysis for large-scale energy projects.
  • Proven track record in energy storage project development, renewable energy M&A, or asset rotation in Australia.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to engage stakeholders, investors, and government agencies.
  • Ability to travel internationally as required.
