Card Payments Specialist

This role will play a vital part in maintaining the reliability of our card payments systems.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of card payment processes, including Visa and FPA compliance updates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support our transaction switch, implementing new card scheme requirements and fraud prevention measures to ensure seamless customer transactions.
  • Analyse and troubleshoot transaction issues, identifying fixes or vendor escalations.
  • Collaborate with vendors, business SMEs, and internal teams to guarantee that fraud detection, token assurance, and related processes meet regulatory expectations.
  • Enhance card processing systems to align with strategic digital initiatives.
  • Support transition to tokenisation and smarter fraud monitoring.
  • Assist with releases, vendor fixes, and bug investigations.
  • Provide operational support for critical incidents and outages.
Requirements
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience working with third-party vendors and external stakeholders.
  • Background in financial services, preferably in a digital or retail banking environment.
  • Understanding of Agile practices and incident/change management processes.
  • Ability to translate technical issues into business contexts.
