Aboriginal Community Wellbeing Worker Role

The role of an Aboriginal Community Wellbeing Worker is to provide holistic primary healthcare services to clients, support them in accessing healthcare services and attending appointments, and offer culturally sensitive case management and advocacy.

This position plays a vital role in promoting the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal communities. The successful candidate will be committed to working with these communities and making a positive impact on their lives.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will also need to be willing to learn and develop qualifications in areas such as alcohol and other drugs, community services, or mental health.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Primary Healthcare Services: Provide holistic primary healthcare services to clients, including outreach, planned transports, service brokerage, and short-term case management.
  2. Client Support: Support clients in accessing healthcare services and attending appointments, including providing information and assistance as needed.
  3. Culturally Sensitive Case Management: Offer culturally sensitive case management and advocacy for clients, taking into account their individual needs and circumstances.
