Job Title: Community Health Advocate

The role of the Community Health Advocate is to promote healthy living practices and prevent disease among remote community residents.

This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with Aboriginal communities and a solid understanding of health promotion principles.

About the Role:
  • To plan, implement, and facilitate health promotion activities and programs within a multidisciplinary team
  • To improve the health and wellbeing of people living in remote communities
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver health promotion programs that are tailored to the needs of remote community residents
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders to ensure effective program delivery
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes to inform future planning
Requirements:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in a field such as health science, public health or a related discipline
  • Experience working with Aboriginal communities and a strong understanding of their cultural and social contexts
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
