We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Engineer to join our team in the Sunshine Coast.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team supporting Queensland's hospital system.

  • Provide high-level biomedical engineering advisory services to clinical, ICT/digital health, and other departments in relation to the management of health technologies and Australian Standards requirements in the healthcare environment.
  • Support the acquisition of healthcare technology and associated systems, including preparing technical specifications, conducting technical assessments, evaluating tender responses, and performing acceptance testing.
  • Deliver high-level training and education to medical officers, nurses, health practitioners, and equipment users on the correct operation, user maintenance, and safe use of healthcare technology.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A recognised four-year Bachelor's degree qualification in Engineering as recognised by Engineers Australia.
  • Registration as an RPEQ (Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland) is highly desirable.
  • Licences, certifications, and accreditations required to carry out activities within the relevant discipline areas or the willingness and ability to make significant progress towards obtaining such during the first 6 months of employment.
  • High level knowledge, expertise, and skill in biomedical engineering or related fields.
  • The ability to apply scientific and engineering knowledge, solve non-routine practical problems, and achieve defined outcomes related to biomedical engineering or related fields.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to convey biomedical engineering principles and concepts to others.
  • Leadership within a work unit, including developing and implementing quality improvements.
