Senior Biomedical Engineer Job Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Biomedical Engineer to join our team in the Sunshine Coast. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting Queensland's hospital system.

Job Description:

As a Senior Biomedical Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-level biomedical engineering advisory services to clinical, ICT/digital health, and other departments in relation to the management of health technologies and Australian Standards requirements in the healthcare environment.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to develop technical specifications, conduct technical and performance assessments of equipment, and evaluate tender responses.
  • Delivering training and education programs for medical officers, nurses, health practitioners, and other equipment users on the correct operation, user maintenance, and safe use of healthcare technology.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognized four-year Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) qualification in Engineering as recognized by Engineers Australia.
  • Registration as an RPEQ (Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland) is highly desirable.
  • Licences, certifications, and accreditations required to carry out activities within relevant discipline areas or willingness and ability to make significant progress towards obtaining such during the first 6 months of employment.
  • High-level knowledge, expertise, and skill in biomedical engineering or related fields.
  • Ability to apply scientific and engineering knowledge, solve non-routine practical problems, and achieve defined outcomes related to biomedical engineering or related fields.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey complex biomedical engineering principles and concepts to others.
