**Caregiver Role Overview:**

This is a challenging yet rewarding caregiving position that requires empathy, understanding and a strong desire to make a positive impact on the lives of older adults with dementia.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide individualized one-on-one support and engagement to residents living with dementia in a memory support unit.
  • Work closely with the site leadership team to provide high-quality care and support to residents.
  • Assist residents with emotional support, including providing comfort and reassurance.
  • Engage residents in meaningful activities aligned with their background and interests.
  • Create a safe and supportive environment for residents, promoting independence, dignity and optimal wellbeing.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or Aged Care - or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 months experience in Aged Care.
  • Experience in participating and arranging recreational or leisure pursuits.
  • Specific experience in working with older people, an advantage if dementia specific.
