About the Role

This position offers a rewarding opportunity for a passionate professional to join our team on a Fixed Term Full-Time Contract until August 2027 based in Malvern or Yarraville, with relocation assistance available.

You'll play a vital role in delivering our Dementia Support Program, working collaboratively to improve lives and implement best practices. With opportunities for professional growth and a commitment to exceptional service, your expertise will empower others to support those living with dementia.

We're looking for someone who can equip carers and clinicians to prevent and respond to behaviour changes through modelling, coaching, and development of resources including behaviour support planning.

Key responsibilities include supporting families, caregivers, and clinical staff to understand how dementia impacts each individual, developing reports that are contextualised to individual situations and people, and contributing to research, projects, and programs.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience supporting people living with dementia – An understanding of dementia and a person-centred approach to care, with a genuine commitment to supporting individuals and their families.
  • Experience supporting older people, ideally within Australian residential and/or community aged care settings, including an understanding of the unique needs of older people in regional and remote areas such as Darwin and the Top End
  • Be relatable and able to share knowledge in a way that supports change at all levels
  • High level of negotiation, communication and relationship building skills
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management
  • A current Australian drivers licence and willingness to travel
  • Empathy and patience
  • Relevant qualification in Allied Health, Nursing, Aged Care or Mental Health is essential
