Residential Care Leader

The role of a Residential Care Specialist is to lead a team of support workers in a residential care setting for children in Out of Home Care. This involves creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment to foster growth and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:- Build professional relationships with children and young people through visible interest and active engagement.
- Manage and support a team of residential workers, leading staff to work together in the best interests of children and young people.
- Support staff to apply a therapeutic crisis intervention system to prevent and respond to crisis incidents.
- Coordinate the intake and transition of new children and young people into the home and their exit to permanent homes or step-down services.
- Work collaboratively with external stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
- Minimum Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or similar.
- Experience working with children and young people who have experienced trauma and disadvantage.
- Experience in coordinating and managing 24-hour residential services for vulnerable people.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and leading a team.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- First Aid and CPR Certificates (or willingness to obtain).
