Job Opportunity

The role of the Specialist Employment Mentor will focus on supporting Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander customers by providing intensive mentoring to ensure their transition into employment is successful and sustained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support clients in achieving employment goals through individualised case management
  • Develop and implement tailored employment plans to meet client needs
  • Build relationships with employers to secure job opportunities for clients
  • Conduct regular assessments and progress reports to track client outcomes
  • Collaborate with other service providers to ensure holistic support for clients
About You
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse range of clients, employers and staff
  • High level of interpersonal skills with an ability to represent our customers, funding bodies, employers, RTOs, Indigenous Communities and other stakeholders
  • Sound knowledge of the local labour market
  • An understanding of case management framework
  • Sales and customer service experience
  • Extensive working knowledge of federally funded Employment Programs and funding models
  • Experience mentoring Indigenous customers in employment
  • Proven ability to work in an outcome based, high pressure environment, positively and with enthusiasm
Requirements
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and ability to type (minimum 30 words per minute)
  • Certificate IV in Employment Services or Career Development (Preferably) or willing to study
  • Hold a current driver's licence and have own vehicle with willingness to travel across the region
