We are seeking a highly skilled Wayside & On-board Service Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

This part-time casual role will involve working with the System Support team to complete tasks assigned by the Team Lead. You will assist other engineers with projects, provide Obsolescence Reports and support, and assist in client reporting.

You will be required to attend site as needed and follow instructions while also taking initiative and contributing ideas. The role involves supporting the help desk activities for remote and centralized maintenance activities, proactively monitoring signalling system component lifecycles and supply chain data to identify potential obsolescence issues.

Collaboration with engineering, procurement, and supply chain teams will be required for obsolescence management. You will investigate and resolve complex obsolescence issues with minimal disruption to production and operations.

Solutions to extend product lifespans and minimize obsolescence impact will need to be sought and implemented. Maintenance of obsolescence tracking tools and generation of regular reports will be essential.

Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers to anticipate lifecycle changes will be necessary. Assistance with internal and external reporting requirements will also be required.

Participation in team meetings, workshops, and training initiatives will be expected. Ensuring all activities comply with applicable HSE laws and policies, including reporting safety incidents per Company procedures, is crucial.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in Railway Signalling System
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, Software System, or relevant engineering discipline
  • Product expertise in critical signalling wayside, onboard, and train control systems/equipment
  • Familiarity with BOM management tools and obsolescence databases
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and effective stakeholder management and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent time management and professionalism
