Job Title: Data Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to join our team at Nine, a leading media company in Australia. As a Data Architect, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing high-performing data products, reducing the complexity of our data landscape, and managing and strategically planning Nine's data architecture.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and manage consumption-focused dimensional data models within a petabyte-sized data platform.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and design systems that support data-driven decision-making.
  • Design and support the implementation of policies for data usage, data storage, data security, and data governance.
  • Promote self-serve and help drive data literacy.
  • Define and promote data governance best practices to ensure data quality, consistency, and security.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Engineer with strong knowledge and application of data modeling techniques.
  • Ability to understand business goals and requirements, and translate them into consumption-focused data models.
  • Practical SQL and Python experience.
  • Demonstrate experience in Big Query or any other major data warehousing tool like Snowflake or Redshift.
  • Experience with data analytics and reporting tools like Tableau, Looker, or any other major data visualization tools.
  • Experience working in agile development and delivery processes.
