Job Overview

As a Capital Works Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to deliver high-impact projects that shape the community.

This role is critical to ensuring project success through effective management and coordination.

  • Managing the initiation, design, procurement, and delivery of capital works projects
  • Reviewing draft designs for constructability and potential omissions
  • Developing technical requirements for RFQs and RFTs, and leading evaluation panels
  • Acting as Superintendent's Representative on assigned projects
  • Oversight of construction project delivery via external contractors and service providers
  • Providing technical advice, status reporting, contract management, and budget/time management
  • Leading and chairing Project Control Groups (PCGs)
  • Development and delivery of projects utilizing knowledge of Local Government building and construction industry practices
  • Liaising with governing authorities and/or utility providers to ensure compliance and approvals
  • Collaboration and management of client and project needs using effective interpersonal and communication skills

We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in project management, civil engineering, or a related field.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing multi-disciplinary capital works projects, strong knowledge of legislation, regulations, design standards, and codes of practice relating to construction and infrastructure, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This position requires a motivated and dedicated individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality projects.

  • Monitor and report project progress and performance
  • Identify and mitigate project risks
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards

Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management or related field
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment
