Mining Safety Specialist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health and Safety Professional to join a high-performing team in the mining industry.
The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture, providing practical support to site operations, and ensuring compliance with NSW workplace health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide leadership and guidance on health and safety matters at a large mining operation.
- To be a visible safety presence in the field, working collaboratively with site personnel to identify and mitigate risks.
- To promote and lead a zero-harm work culture, delivering training and assurance programs to site employees.
- To investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- To facilitate site safety audits and ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience in health, safety, and hygiene in an underground mining environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and motivate site personnel.
- Proven ability to identify and manage mining hazards.
