We are seeking a highly skilled and inspiring educator to join the School of Built Environment at UNSW Australia.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer (Education Focussed) in Landscape Architecture to contribute to our teaching and service missions. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, research, and professional activities that align with the School's strategic priorities.
The successful candidate will have expertise in urban ecology, designing for climate change, and the material impacts of climate change. They will also possess skills in assessing climate change and landscape performance. We encourage candidates with experience in developing emerging pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver high-quality teaching programs in Landscape Architecture, including courses on climate positive design and improved landscape performance outcomes.
- Contribute to curriculum development, academic quality assurance, and course administration.
- Evaluate student learning achievements and provide support to students in postgraduate and undergraduate courses.
- Maintain professional development in pedagogy, disciplinary knowledge, and deliver minimum professional accreditation requirements as determined by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects.
- Participate in School and Faculty committees as required.
The selection criteria for this role include:
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching, research, and professional activities in Landscape Architecture.
- Experience in developing emerging pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning.
- Skills in assessing climate change and landscape performance.
- A strong track record of publication and research in relevant fields.
We offer a competitive remuneration package, including a salary range of $123,620 - $145,730 per annum, plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading pro rata. We also offer a dynamic and supportive work environment, opportunities for professional development, and a generous parental leave policy.
