Our organisation is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing weekly, fortnightly and monthly pay runs accurately and on time.">

The Payroll Specialist will work closely with one of our Business Units to develop an understanding of roles, awards and pay complexities. This includes analysis and audit of all payrolls to ensure legislative and award compliance. The role also involves participating in system upgrade projects and continually improving payroll processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll processing, including off-cycle pay runs;
  • Partnering with the Business Unit to develop understanding of roles, awards and pay complexities;
  • Analysis and audit of all payrolls, ensuring legislative and award compliance;
  • Participating in system upgrade projects and continual improvement of payroll processes;
  • Liaising with HR on employee appointments, terminations, remuneration etc.;
  • Performing ad hoc payroll duties as required;

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • 2+ years proven experience as a Payroll Officer within a medium to large organisation;
  • Strong experience in EA/Modern Award interpretation;
  • Experience with medium-sized payroll and time and attendance systems like Ceridian (Preceda) and Kronos;
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information;
  • Intermediate Excel and Outlook skills;
  • Strong customer service skills;
