We are seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Senior Planning Strategist.

This is a key position that will play a pivotal role in driving sustainable economic growth, enhancing community wellbeing, and advancing smart, integrated growth in one of Victoria's most diverse and fast-evolving municipalities.

  • Lead complex statutory planning projects that drive sustainable economic growth.
  • Provide expert advice to internal teams, developers, and the community.
  • Represent Council at VCAT and other forums with professionalism and confidence.
  • Mentor and support team members to build capability and improve service delivery.
  • Collaborate with Economic Development to unlock strategic opportunities for growth.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in planning or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in statutory planning within the Victorian planning system.
  • Strong understanding of the social, environmental, and economic context of interface councils.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects and consultant teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
  • A collaborative and adaptable working style with a focus on outcomes.
