Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Therapeutic Practice Coordinator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young people.
Job Description:The Therapeutic Practice Coordinator will work closely with our operational teams to provide therapeutic care and support to young people in out-of-home care. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of child development, complex trauma, and therapeutic models of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivers trusted advice: Provide expert guidance on best practice in trauma-informed care, legislative knowledge, and licensing processes.
- Promote Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI): Design and deliver TCI training packages tailored to the needs of the area.
- Post-crisis support: Support front-line team members and operational leaders in providing post-crisis responses and support following critical incidents.
- Facilitate case review functions: Conduct case clinics and provide recommendations and expertise in care planning through associated documentation.
- Provide a voice to the Young People: Engage with young people through annual surveys, team meetings, and site visits.
- Consult on intakes and referrals: Support the team in preparing properties and planning after a referral has been confirmed.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related discipline or Diploma of Community Services (or related discipline).
- Minimum 2 years' relevant experience within out-of-home care.
- Strong understanding of child development, complex trauma, and therapeutic models of care.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including stakeholder presentation, consultation, and negotiation.
- Demonstrated informal leadership with success in coaching, guiding, and improving care practice.
