We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Asbestos Identification Specialist to join our high-performing asbestos team. This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior role with a strong focus on technical excellence, mentoring, and continuous improvement.
About The Role- Perform complex asbestos identification in soil and bulk materials using state-of-the-art laboratory techniques.
- Conduct fibre counting using precision microscopy, ensuring accuracy and precision.
- Review and finalise analytical results and client reports, providing expert technical support and advice.
- Develop and lead internal and external training programs for junior analysts and clients.
- Administer proficiency testing programs, driving method development and improvements in asbestos analysis.
- Conduct internal audits and liaise with external auditors to maintain accreditation compliance.
- Mentor and support the development of junior staff, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- A relevant science degree, such as chemistry or environmental science.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in asbestos identification and fibre counting, with advanced expertise in PLM and PCM.
- Strong understanding of ISO 17025 and NATA accreditation requirements.
- Experience in training and mentoring junior analysts, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
