About Our Shire

We are a rural shire located in southern New South Wales, on the Victorian border. Our region is known for its picturesque towns and villages, interspersed across the landscape. We have a diverse economy, driven by mixed farming enterprises, including grazing and grain production.

Our organisation plays a vital role in servicing our community, providing essential services to support local businesses and residents. We are seeking an experienced leader to join our team as General Manager.

The Position

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to guide our workforce of around 180 people. As General Manager, you will be responsible for fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and adaptability within our organisation. You will work closely with our councillors to provide strategic advice and deliver on decisions that shape the future of our region.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess strong financial and organisational management skills, as well as the ability to engage constructively with our councillors and stakeholders. You will also need to be able to build trust with our staff, foster a positive workplace culture and represent us with confidence and credibility to government, business and the wider community.

What You Need To Succeed

  1. Tertiary qualifications in business, management or leadership, or equivalent relevant experience
  2. Proven experience in senior leadership roles, including oversight of teams, budgets and operational performance
  3. Ability to work constructively with councillors, community members and external stakeholders, providing clear and considered guidance
