Job Description

The Australian Public Service Commission is seeking a highly skilled Director, Financial Systems to join our team.

About the Role

  • This is a key leadership position within the Finance Branch, responsible for delivering financial capability and supporting the delivery of strategic priorities.
  • The successful candidate will lead a team to support and provide core transaction services to the Department of Parliamentary Services, including establishment, payroll, workforce management, and ERP Application Technical support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, manage, and support processes essential to effective financial management outcomes.
  • Provide financial analysis and insight to senior executives, managers, and staff to inform decision-making.
  • Lead the Financial Systems capabilities, supporting the Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Secretary, Finance Branch.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to achieve and deliver results.
  • Inspire a sense of purpose and direction within the team.
  • Show judgement, intelligence, and common sense in decision-making.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in Financial Systems, with a proven track record of successful business partnering.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Previous experience in SAP is highly desirable.
  • The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.
