About the Role

Our client, a reputable government agency, is seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing financial advice and guidance to line areas, including drafting briefs and reports on finance, security, and integrity matters
  • Assisting in the implementation of initiatives to strengthen financial control capabilities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Managing external budgeting, including preparation of adjustments in the central finance system and associated supporting documentation
  • Overseeing accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit card, and travel processes and systems to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Maintaining financial management information system records for financial management and internal budgeting, including reviewing budget documents to ensure accuracy and completeness of staffing and supplier costing data
  • Managing assigned tasks for month-end management reporting and year-end financial statements

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence outcomes and support productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to achieve results and think strategically to identify areas for focus and implement well-considered solutions
  • Demonstrated experience in financial administration and reporting, including accounts payable/receivable, budget management, and travel reconciliation
