Digital Preservation Specialist

As a key player in our Digital Preservation team, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance to staff and external stakeholders. Your role will involve testing and evaluating equipment, systems and hardware/software to automate and support digital acquisitions and digitisation.
We are embarking on a significant transformation driven by increased investment, which presents an exciting opportunity to develop the Archive's capacity to digitise our collection at scale. You will play a crucial role in ensuring preservation standards meet best archiving practice and the reuse needs of our customers.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of historical analogue audiovisual material, digital objects and carrier formats, postproduction techniques and digital delivery. They will also possess highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a solutions-based approach to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
You will collaborate closely with the global digital preservation community to identify and prioritise at-risk digital material and develop processes and plans to ensure ongoing preservation and access.
