About the Job
This is a strategic leadership opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to oversee end-to-end payroll operations across multiple entities and states. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of payroll specialists and outsourced providers, ensuring accurate and compliant payroll delivery on a fortnightly basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead payroll operations and compliance across multiple entities and states, including superannuation, salary packaging, and STP reporting.
- Manage relationships with outsourced payroll providers and ensure exceptional service delivery.
- Drive payroll governance, process improvements, and automation initiatives.
- Oversee payroll integration for acquisitions, ensuring seamless transitions and compliance.
- Coordinate employment tax activities, including FBT, payroll tax, and workers' compensation.
- Provide strategic insights through payroll reporting and analytics to inform business decisions.
- Collaborate with global payroll teams to align best practices and contribute to group strategy.
About You
We are seeking a seasoned payroll leader who excels in fast-paced environments and thrives on building high-performing functions. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing Australian payroll operations for large employee populations, possess strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and ATO compliance, and demonstrate excellent leadership capabilities.
Requirements:
- Proven experience managing Australian payroll operations for 1000+ employees.
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, Modern Awards, and ATO compliance.
- Experience integrating payroll operations from acquired businesses or onboarding large volumes of new starters.
- Demonstrated leadership capability and experience managing a team.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and time management.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and staying up-to-date with industry trends.
- Payroll certification or relevant qualifications.
