Who We Are

We're an Australian technology innovator specialising in advanced asset management software. Our SaaS platform combines sophisticated UI, modelling and analytics to help organisations unlock the full potential of their assets.

Why Join Us?

At AssetFuture, we believe in technology with purpose. If you're driven by making a meaningful impact on society and want your work to create lasting value for communities, you'll find your place here. We're looking for passionate individuals who share our vision of using advanced technology to build a better tomorrow.

We're scaling rapidly and need exceptional engineers to help shape our technical direction. This is a unique opportunity to join our core team during our high-growth phase, where you'll have a significant impact on our platform's architecture and technical decisions.

Who We're Looking For

Are you an engineering leader looking for a flexible role where you can make a big impact? AssetFuture is continuing to grow, and we're looking for a Fractional CTO to join our team.

In this role, you'll:

  • Guide our technology strategy, oversee product development, and ensure our platform stays scalable, secure, and future-ready.
  • Lead and mentor the Engineering team, foster a strong culture of collaboration and delivery, and balance competing priorities across new development, technical debt, and production support.
  • Work closely with the Leadership team, Sales, and Customer Success to align technology with business goals and support client discussions.

We're seeking an engineering leader with strong SaaS product experience, a proven record of driving complex initiatives, and the ability to deliver with consistency. If you've built exceptional products and empowered high-performing teams, we'd love to connect.

About the Role

We're looking for a Fractional CTO to provide strategic engineering leadership at AssetFuture. In this role, you'll shape how technology drives our growth, oversee product development, lead and mentor our Engineering team, and ensure our tech stack is optimised, secure, and future-ready.

This is a fractional engagement of three days per week, with flexibility built in to match business needs. If you're looking for a role that combines big-picture impact with hands-on influence, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Define and drive the technology vision and architecture to support growth and innovation.
  • Oversee product development, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
  • Stay hands-on with technology to guide complex decisions and develop the team.

Delivery & Execution

  • Lead delivery of major initiatives on time, on budget, and in line with business priorities.
  • Balance new development, technical debt, and production support.
  • Optimise the technology stack and maintain compliance with security and regulatory standards.
  • Continuously improve engineering processes and documentation for efficiency and quality.

Leadership & Culture

  • Lead and mentor the Engineering team to achieve their best.
  • Champion an outcome-focused, learning-oriented culture through retrospectives and knowledge-sharing.
  • Play an active role in recruitment, retention, and performance management.

Commercial & Strategic Contribution

  • Work as part of the Executive Leadership Team to align technology with business strategy.
  • Provide clear, concise updates and recommendations to leadership.
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Success in presales and client discussions.
  • Manage vendors and software licences to deliver best value.

Technical Expertise

  • 10+ years in senior engineering roles, including 3–5 years in leadership and recent hands-on technical work.
  • Proven SaaS product experience.
  • Strong capability in innovation, architecture, and vendor/licence management.
  • Current knowledge of emerging technologies and security compliance.
