
Department Relations Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking a skilled Department Liaison Officer to provide high-level support to the Minister and the Department.
The successful candidate will act as a conduit for efficient information sharing and coordination of Ministerial Briefings, Correspondence, Cabinet Matters, and Parliamentary Business.
The role requires strong organisational skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to operate independently within given guidelines and timeframes.
An ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise and negotiate effectively with internal stakeholders.
They will be responsible for managing and coordinating administrative and communication requirements between the Minister's office and the Department.
The position also involves ensuring that briefings, correspondence, and other documentation meet applicable protocols and standards.
A key quality assurance role, the successful candidate will work closely with senior departmental officers and ministerial staff to advise on relevant administrative and other matters.
The ideal candidate will have a detailed knowledge of the Department's structure, administrative mechanisms, and protocols, as well as experience in reviewing confidential and sensitive issues.
In addition, they will contribute to a positive team culture and assist the broader DLO team and across the Governance and Portfolio Services Branch as required.
