About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Automation Engineer. This is a 2-year, maximum-term, full-time opportunity based at our Head Office in Clayton, with occasional local and interstate travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Commission Automation Solutions: Develop and implement automation solutions that meet the needs of our customers and drive business growth.
  • Train and Support Automation Engineers: Provide training and guidance to our automation engineers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Develop Software Requirements: Create software requirements specifications for automation solutions that meet the needs of our customers and drive business growth.
  • Develop and Commission Automation Software: Develop and commission automation software for PLC/HMI/SCADA/DRIVES and NETWORKS in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Deploy Automation Software: Deploy automation software for PLC/HMI/SCADA/DRIVES and NETWORKS at the customer site.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Teams: Work closely with other engineering teams, including Mechanical, Electrical, and Robotics, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of automation solutions.
  • Commission Automation Software: Commission automation software for PLC/HMI/SCADA/DRIVES and NETWORKS in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide Customer Support: Provide customer support services to ensure that our customers receive the best possible service and support.
Requirements
  • Tertiary Qualification: A tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, such as Mechatronics, Electrical, or Computing.
  • Industrial Automation Experience: Sound industrial automation experience, with a strong background in software development and commissioning for PLC/SCADA/HMI/DRIVES and NETWORKS.
  • PLC Experience: Experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs and automation devices is highly desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex processes clearly.
  • Time Management: Effective time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to Detail: A strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Leadership Skills: The ability to train and lead others, with a strong focus on developing and mentoring team members.
