Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of food and industrial products across Australasia.

This position requires a professional who can maintain and improve quality and safety processes, conduct audits and inspections, manage product regulatory documentation, and provide information to management and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality and Safety Practices: The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding quality and safety practices and processes, including laboratory testing methods, product specification, and safety data documentation.
  • Assistance and Support: This role involves assisting with process mapping, writing and implementing plans and procedures, conducting audits and inspections, managing product regulatory documentation, coordinating laboratory equipment calibration and servicing, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Document Accuracy and Quality: Ensuring accuracy and quality of documents and reports is crucial in this position.
  • Performance Monitoring: The Quality Assurance Officer will monitor and evaluate performance in areas such as customer complaints, in-process and production quality, sampling plans and internal/external testing, product holds, traceability, and recall testing, and warehousing and transportation services.
  • Information Provision: Providing information, instructions, and training to management and staff is an essential part of this role.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Analyzing and reporting on key metrics, performance indicators, and trends is also a critical responsibility.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Overseeing regulatory and compliance matters, including maintaining current and compliant safety data sheets, product specifications, and regulatory documentation, achieving product certification and compliance efficiently, and coordinating with relevant personnel locally and globally.
  • Safety, Health, and Environment: Managing Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) responsibilities, such as supporting colleagues as needed, developing knowledge of SHE policies, regulations, and procedures, assisting with investigations and nonconformity rectification, and supporting audits and maintaining the Integrated Management System per ISO 9001, 45001, and 14001 standards.

Additional Duties: Conducting benchmarking exercises for industry best practices, contributing to a positive workplace culture aligned with company values, taking immediate action to control environmental, health, safety, and quality risks, and participating in cross-functional duties, including SAP tasks related to production and maintenance.
