The Role You Could PlayThis is a newly created role and a great opportunity for you to bring your experience in leading a HR team to provide business-focused operational HR advice and strategic partnership. A strong focus of this role is building, supporting, coaching the business partnering team in uplifting leadership capability, driving team member engagement and fostering a positive and inclusive workplace.
Well-versed in HR policies and legislation, you will be responsible for coaching the team to navigate complex employee and industrial relations matters, resolving issues in a values-aligned, commercial way.
As a senior member of MECCA's P&E team, you will drive change, optimize our business partnering model, and build team capability and capacity to manage and achieve our ambitious people strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a Business Partner team to coach, support senior Leaders, aligning to MECCA's vision and strategy
- Partner with the General Manager - People and Education, and the Chief People Officer to define and implement people initiatives across our Support Centre, Distribution Centre and Customer Care workforces
- Translate the strategic agenda into clear people plans and deliver organizational transformation initiatives and programs
- Partner with leadership teams as a trusted advisor by proactively analyzing, identifying and recommending appropriate strategies to minimize risks, enhance and promote a people-centered values-driven culture
- Act as the escalation point for people matters – balancing commercial and people considerations to ensure the timely, fair and values-aligned resolution to complex issues
- Identify opportunities to evolve the people partnering model – creating efficiencies and strengthening the service and experience stakeholders receive
- Provide a coaching approach to facilitate effective, consistent Leadership that empowers people management – expecting and enabling Managers to assume increasing responsibility for people management
- Oversee Enterprise Agreement analysis, implementation, and negotiation, acting as an escalation point when required
We are looking for someone with extensive HR business partner leadership experience in driving positive cultural change with leaders in a large, diverse, and fast-paced organization. You will have a pragmatic, people-first approach to people, coupled with strong commercial acumen.
You will have proven HR strategy leadership, with experience linking strategic goals with operational decisions. Strong influencing skills and experience with partnering at a senior leadership (C-suite) level are essential.
Confidence in making decisions and taking action even without having the whole picture is crucial. Strong ER and IR knowledge and experience in EBA negotiations are also required.
Change management experience and the ability to influence stakeholders through periods of change are essential. Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to advise, coach, and support the talent and leadership agenda, and build mutually beneficial partnerships with key stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.
A demonstrated ability to be 'hands-on', curious about the why, and focused on outcomes is necessary. Passionate about the team member experience and developing individuals' skills and capabilities is a must.
