News Editor Role

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic team as a News Editor. You will play a crucial role in shaping the editorial direction of our content verticals, ensuring high-quality stories that resonate with millions of young Australians.

The ideal candidate will be a senior multimedia journalist with at least 5 years of experience, possessing solid production skills and a strong understanding of editorial tone. They will be able to write for different platforms, bringing concise, credible, and clear content to life.

We are seeking a solutions-focused individual who can switch gears quickly, handle unpredictable hours, and prioritize unbiased, explanatory style journalism. The successful candidate will be part of a small team that leads essential news coverage and supports expanding verticals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write and present up to 2x podcasts a week (produce and present)
  • Edit video scripts and final drafts across multiple products
  • Review and fact-check breaking news in real-time

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Solid production skills, including familiarity with Adobe Suite or equivalent
  • Strong editorial instinct and ability to bring it to life across scripts, reels, and posts
  • Ability to write for different platforms: concise, credible, and clear
