
Research and Evaluation Specialist

Children's Ground is seeking a First Nations person to join their Research & Evaluation team. This role will involve working as part of a team with staff based in Central Australia and Darwin.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of research principles, evaluation methods, and data sovereignty. They should be able to demonstrate experience in literature reviews, evidence scans, and report writing.
Responsibilities will include undertaking research and evaluation projects, contributing to the development of policies and procedures, and working closely with other teams to ensure the effective implementation of research and evaluation activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Undertake literature reviews and evidence scans to inform our systems and service reform frameworks.
- Gather internal and external evidence to contribute to evaluation, research, advocacy submissions to government and other stakeholders.
- Establish a system of monitoring and utilising national and international literature and evidence.
- Contribute to leading practice in First Nations data, research and evaluation sovereignty.
- Review and enhance existing external research partnerships processes and documents.
- Lead a project that benchmarks our research and evaluation against national and international leading practice.
- Work closely with our R&E teams in each region to document the views and perspectives of local First Nations staff about First Nations data, research and evaluation sovereignty and standards.
- Explore creative ways to visualise key research and evaluation principles, approaches and processes.
- Develop and maintain an internal register of strategic research priorities.
- Contribute to identifying research grant opportunities to fund internal strategic and community research projects.
- Contribute to peer learning and support the development of R&E resources for First Nations leaders, staff and communities.
- Plan, report and meet with local First Nations people and elders to discuss local aspirations and acquire content to inform monitoring, evaluation and research.
