Senior Geotechnical Engineer Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team of experts. This senior-level position offers a unique blend of technical work, project management, leadership and client-facing problem solving.

You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects within a national geotechnical team. You will be responsible for delivering projects, as well as crafting and reviewing geotechnical work to benefit clients' communities.

This role offers a variety of challenging work, including:

">
  • ">
  • Collaborating with experienced geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists, pavement engineers, geophysicists, hydrogeologists and geo-technicians at a national and international level.">
  • Contributing to the delivery of projects, including identification and management of risks, and ensuring work outputs are of a high technical standard.">
  • Undertaking geotechnical analyses in areas such as deep excavations, slope stability, foundations, retaining walls, pavement designs etc.">
  • Interpreting and analyzing data to develop and implement practical and commercial solutions.">
  • Interacting with clients through pursuit, tendering and delivery phases of projects, with opportunities to address business development tasks in a relationship-oriented business.">
  • Providing technical mentoring for junior team members to build and develop their skills.">

Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • ">
  • Degree-level qualifications in geotechnical / geological / civil engineering.">
  • Postgraduate qualifications in geotechnical engineering and/or engineering geology beneficial.">
  • A minimum of 8 years relevant engineering/industry experience in geotechnical consulting, including fieldwork data gathering and site investigation reporting.">
  • Strong technical leadership, mentoring and advice skills.">
  • Ability to prioritize, coordinate and lead teams carrying out both field investigation and analytical design work.">
  • Geotechnical analysis skills using industry-standard software or methods.">
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.">
  • Project management skills appropriate for large or sophisticated projects.">
  • Willingness to travel and work on remote sites.">
