About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our Engineering Services Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the generation and management of design plans for our capital works program, including road construction, drainage, traffic treatments, parking, footpaths, and parks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Civil Design Team Leader in the program management of our engineering design projects, including planning, scoping, design, and construction phases.
  • Prepare computer-generated design plans for our capital works program, ensuring compliance with Council policy, engineering standards, and codes of practice.
  • Check engineering designs provided by consultants, design engineers, graduate engineers, and student engineers, ensuring compliance with Council policy, engineering standards, and codes of practice.
  • Manage consultants engaged to undertake civil design projects, including procurement, evaluation, and contract administration in accordance with Council's Procurement Policy.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering with several years of subsequent relevant experience in a relevant field or lesser formal qualifications with extensive relevant experience.
  • Registered Civil Engineer in Victoria or all necessary qualifications and experience to obtain registered status.
  • Extensive design experience relating to small and large civil engineering projects, including roads and drainage design using computer design software.
  • Current valid Victorian Driver's Licence.
